What a Guy!
We’d like to recognize the awesome work that Austin Nelson from East Career & Technical Academy did for us today. Austin, as part of an Eagle Scout project, coordinated the making of 101 comfort kits for us to give out to victims of home fires, and he dropped all 101 of them off at the Chapter offices today! Way to go Austin, and thank you!
Comfort kits are small packages of essentials like toothbrushes and razors, etc., that our Disaster Action Team Volunteers give out to people who’ve just lost their home to a fire. Many victims tell us of the importance of these kits, as, when one is faced with having lost everything in a terrible fire, these kits are the first and most immediate gesture and signal that someone cares, and recovery is beginning.
Thanks to Austin and all his helpers for these important tools that truly change peoples’ lives every day!
