Volunteer Opportunities

Looking to get more involved with the chapter? Have some extra time?  We have a need for help in the following areas.

Curator / Historian / Researcher

We have a great project here at the chapter for someone who is good at organizing information. We have 95 years worth of newspaper clippings and photos that we need to organize and put into an order that will allow us to display and better tell our Red Cross history in Southern Nevada. If you’re interested, use the contact form below.

Disaster Public Affairs Associate:  Respond during local disasters and serve as a media liaison to help tell the Red Cross story.  Volunteers serve on an on-call basis similar to Disaster Action Team members.  For more information and a full job description contact us using the contact form below.

ASL Sign Language Interpreters:  We have a need for ASL qualified and certified interpreters to help meet both health and safety and disaster needs of the community.  For more info use the contact form below.

Babysitting Class “Adult”:  Red Cross guidelines require an adult attend the babysitting class in addition to the Instructor.  Although we ask a parent to attend this is not always an option.  If you would be willing to attend the Babysitting Class please contact us using the form below.  No specific training is needed.  Courses are generally on the weekend, either a Saturday or Sunday from 9 am to about 5pm.  Pizza lunch is provided.  Feel free to bring a book or knitting!

To take part in these activities you must be a registered volunteer with the Southern Nevada Chapter and have completed an application, interview and background check.  For a full list of volunteer opportunities or if you are not yet a registered Southern Nevada Chapter volunteer please visit www.redcrosslasvegas.org.
